Use Ceiling Fans to Reduce Your Cooling and Heating Bills

Many people think that the use of ceiling fans is becoming out of fashion. Well, they are certainly wrong. With surging bills that are plaguing homeowners today, many of them are now resorting to a more energy-efficient and less costly means. It’s true that cooling and heating bills can be significantly reduced if only homeowners would install these very effective home devices.

We can’t help these days that most home cooling is designed with the presence of air conditioning units. Such devices are indeed preferred because they can deliver chilled air into the abode. The temperature can be lowered and they are particularly very helpful especially on a sweltering summer day. However, such great performance comes with a steep price. By the end of the month, homeowners who use AC units are handed down staggering amounts of cooling bills that eat up most of their earnings.

That is why it is highly recommended that homeowners employ ceiling fans into their home. The overhead fans can bring about a wave of coolness by rotating and creating breezes into the room. Anyone who sits underneath the fans will immediately be cooled and made to feel very comfortable.

Having them operated even on a steady and prolonged period won’t cost a lot. This is so because it only takes minimum power in order to have them run. Unbelievably, an overhead fan needs only somewhere between 40 to 100 watts of power in order to keep it running. This only means that their operation is very much equivalent to switching on the light fixture pieces at home.

If you can’t entirely let go of your central air cooling system, this doesn’t mean that you can’t practically employ the overhead fans into your home. You still can install these pieces, in fact, it is highly recommended. This is so because the delivery of the chilled air can be circulated with great efficiency. The room temperature can be lowered further and this means your AC units will be working less as compared to when there are no fans that are working in tandem with them.

Heating bills during winter months can also be reduced when the overhead fans are made to circulate in the opposite fashion (clockwise). The distribution of warm air can also be fully-circulated with optimum efficiency into the room. Just remember though that the fans should be made to operate in the slowest setting so as to avoid the wind-chill effect.
